Q. What do you do with the junk you haul away?
A. The Burly Guys make every effort to keep usable or recyclable items out of landfills. We re-use, donate or recycle as much as we can.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept all major credit cards, cash or check. Invoicing can be set up for commercial accounts upon credit approval. Also, coming soon invoices can be paid with Burly Bucks gift certificates.
Q. How much does your service cost?
A. The Burly Guys charge by volume, not weight or labor, and without seeing your junk it is difficult to provide an exact price. However, we will show up at an appointed time and give you a firm price, and if you agree we can do the removal on the spot. Also, please see our pricing page for estimates of what individual items will cost to remove.
Q. How do I estimate how many cubic yards of junk I have?
A. If you're trying to estimate your volume of junk, there are a couple of ways to do it. One of my favorite methods is to tell you that a cubic yard is about the size of your washing machine, so figure out how many “washing machine-sized” piles there are. For the mathematically inclined among you, if you approximate the height, width and depth of your pile in feet and multiply those three figures, that will give you cubic footage, and if you then divide by 27 that will give you the number of cubic yards.
Q. What kind of items can you take?
A. If two people can lift it and it is non-hazardous, the Burly Guys can remove it. We remove construction debris, furniture, appliances, old swing sets and playscapes, sheds and outbuildings, Jacuzzis and hot tubs, decks, concrete, electronics, car parts, lumber, firewood, metal, carpeting, pianos and more.
Q. Can you take hazardous materials?
A. We can certainly take tires, paint and household chemicals. Those items incure a surcharge for proper disposal. Other items are on a case-by-case basis.
